2000-Year-Old Bog Butter Could Still Be Edible

Big Butter

Peckish? You might be eyeing up a piece of candy found behind the sofa, wondering what its “best before” date is, whether you could still eat it without catching the lurgy.

Alternatively, if you head to the National Museum of Ireland, you could get a lick of a 2,000-year-old block of bog butter which some experts think could still be edible.

Now that is a way to make any meal more interesting and if your having a bruch or dinner party it makes for a great conversation piece.

Jordan-moore-footballer-ghost-nun-limerick-forward

Jordan Moore, a forward for football teams such as Dundee United, Airedrie United and Queen’s Park and who also battled skin cancer in 2014 was back in the news today for the  strange events he claims to have had while trying to rejuvenate his career  while recently playing for Limerick in Ireland.

Moore claims that a man threatened to ‘send him home in a box’ if he broke a treadmill, that the local pub was run by the mob and that the club would pay him some of his wages he was owed for playing by getting change from the club burger van!

Although some in Limerick have accused Moore of an overactive imagination about their home and making up stories to explain why he left Limerick and went back to Scotland, Moore also talked about how the old convent the club had him stay in was haunted and that a nun had committed suicide in the very room he slept in!

Man Spends 24 Hours In Haunted Bunker For Charity

bunker haunted essex nuclear

Usually I don’t post many news items that involve individual paranormal investigators or groups unless they have captured something interesting, but in this case I wanted to point out this story as it someone within the community doing something for a charitable cause.

Thomas Warrington from Sleaford will spend 24 hours in a haunted nuclear bunker from the 1950’s to raise money for Cancer Research UK in May of this year.

The bunker, which is one hundred and twenty-five feet below ground was decommissioned in the 1990’s and now is used for historical tours. The bunker can be entered from a passageway from the cottage that sits above it in Essex.

Warrington seems to be excited about the opportunity as well, judging from his statements about the upcoming charity event:

British Believe in Ghosts More Then God

picsay-1379549186

We previously reported on a study that involved both the United States and the U.K. that stated that half of those surveyed in both regions believed in ghosts and the paranormal.

Recently a similar analysis has arisen that focuses on British people that identify as part of the Christian religion and the results while not too shocking do show a change in the belief systems in the Western world.

The analysis was published on YouGov on March 26th and focused on YouGov profiles of twelve-thousand users who identify with the Christian religion and a control group of Thirty-nine-thousand British subjects to represent the overall population.

Results are rather interesting as there seems to be in the data a definite push away from traditional religion as well as showing a sample of how the British feel about ghosts and other paranormal activity, in relation to one of the largest Western faiths.

Audio of ‘Ghost Dog’ Caught on Tape at Plas Teg

Ghost Dog

The Daily Post recently published an article online which tells the tale of Paul Rowland, a paranormal investigator who seems to have been witness to many strange events going on at Plas Teg, a Jacobean house in Pontblyddyn, Wales.

In the past Rowland claims to have captured the images of two ghost children on the infamous property which has been the subject of much exposure and debate including being featured on Extreme Ghost Stories and Most Haunted, including their Halloween event in 2007.

Plas Teg even had a visit from the pop  group Girls Aloud in 2006 for the television special Ghost Hunting With…Girls Aloud.

Although Plas Teg is considered one of the most haunted locations in Wales, if not the world, recently it added another notch on it’s paranormal belt when Rowland claimed to have captured the audio of a barking ghost dog during a seance held at Plas Teg.

Over Four Hundred Ghost ‘Emergency’ Calls in Manchester

Halloween_scared_phone_callThe Daily Star reported that four-hundred and sixteen people called Manchester’s emergency ‘999’ phone line to reports ghost sightings in the last five years.

Although it only gave a brief glimpse into the calls themselves they are jam packed with spirits from homicidal ghosts, to a picture of a little ghost girl and a woman who claimed someone turned her son into a witch.

Sounds more like 666 then 999 to me.

Ghosts at Old WW2 Munitions Factory?

WW2 Factory

In the Pall Mall area of Liverpool, several WW2 era bombs were found in an abandoned factory while demolition makes way for the North Point renovation project.

Although that story is interesting enough in its own right, an urban explorer who goes by the name of Toc66 later went into the disused factory before it was demolished and snapped a series of pictures, which were later published online by the Liverpool Echo.

Echo readers online began to comment that besides getting a glimpse at history and a location that was also recently in the local news, they could see objects of a more ghostly origin as well.

This infamous ghost image took the internet by storm in 2003. It was originally published in the Chicago Sun-Times on December 21st of that year and was said to be a still of CCTV footage from the Hampton Court Palace, located on the Thames river in London, England.

Although the Hampton Court is ripe with tales of ghostly apparitions and strange occurrences, the picture of the robed figure was immediately a topic for debate for both believers and skeptics alike.

Was it an excellent ghost photograph or a clever hoax?

Ghostly Pics: The Back Seat Ghost

back seat ghost 1959 graveyard car

Graveyards are one of those places that you just might expect to capture a photograph of a ghost or spirit. After all, it is the final resting place of our physical forms and has an obvious connection with death and whatever might lay beyond it.

So it might not come as a shock to anyone that one of the most famous ghost photos in the world came from a cemetery.

Even more impressive, the ghost seemed keen to get a ride to some destination in the physical world as the picture itself shows the spirit sitting in the back of a car!

‘Ghost’ Plays Loud Music, Throws Beer Cans

'Haunted' House in Hull

Recently I wrote a post that described a wife abuser who blamed bruises as well as the marks on his wife’s neck on a ghost. At the time, I thought that news items where people on the wrong side of the law blamed the paranormal for their crimes would be few and far between.

That was before I read about twenty year old Leanne Fennell of East Yorkshire in the UK, who blames the resident ghost in her Hull house for her numerous noise and littering violations.

Demolition Men Find Ghost

Is This The Ghost Of Frances Grimshaw?

By Thomas Spychalski

It is said that ghosts and spirits will cling to the places they once lived, be it because they are trapped there or these are the only ‘homes’ that they feel they can go to and feel safe.

It is not surprising then, to hear that a demolition crew in Kendal, Cumbria had a run in with the ghost of a woman who used to run the boarding house they were there to knock down, even getting the spooky ghost photo at the top of this article which appears to show the blurred form of a woman peering out from the half destroyed structure.
