If you read about or investigate the paranormal for a hobby, you probably have come across the story of the Amityville Horror, where a family in Amityville, New York spent twenty-eight horrific days in one of the most infamous haunted houses in the world.
The house, which is located at 108 Ocean Ave (formerly 112 Ocean Ave before the gawkers and tourists became too much to bear after the original film’s release in the late seventies and the street number was changed), also was where Ronald Defeo murdered six of his family members while they slept in November 1974.
Later the Warrens would come in to investigate the house in 1976, leading to one of the most chilling and controversial ‘real’ ghost photographs of all time, The Amityville Ghost Boy.
There is another photograph connected to the ever growing and confusing Amityville legend that has never really been brought to light.
It is said to have been taken in 1922 in the house that stood on the same property on which the Dutch Colonial the Defeos and Lutzes both lived in later stood.
And the figure within the captured image was claimed to be conjured during a seance no less…
News From The Spirit World contacted the fifty year old self professed paranormal investigator and clairvoyant and asked him to tell us more about the video’s origins as well as more about Vernon himself and what he does in the paranormal universe.
What we got, besides some interesting video and photographic evidence to consider, was a compelling story about a man with a couple ghost companions and also offer from Vernon to use his gifts to help others with paranormal problems for free…
The Hopkinson Vintage: Antiques and Art Centre on Station street in Nottingham has been around for one hundred and thirty years.
Originally the building was the site of Hopkinson LTD, which was an engineers merchant who sold their wares to various factories in the area.
Now it seems if the employees of Hopkinson Vintage are correct that the original owner of the site, Mrs. Hopkinson herself has come back to make sure things are still running smoothly at her former business.
One of the employees, Liam Woodgates noticed some disturbing footage one night on the shop’s CCTV camera system that gave a little more credence to the story that perhaps Mrs. Hopkinson was indeed roaming the sales floor…
The photos were taken on two separate dates by two different photographers in different parts of Pen-Y-Lan Hall and it’s grounds but they appear to show the eerie faces of a ghost boy and a ghost girl.
Facebook user Randy Topacio posted some interesting pictures to his account on March 10th of this year while in Intramuros, a historical district in Manila, Philippines. Besides being the former capital when the area was part of the Spanish Empire, it also is known as the walled city, due to the defense walls built in the 16th century.
Intramuros is actually Spanish for ‘within the walls.’
Topacio was standing on one of these walls when he took a series of interesting photographs he speculates could actually be images of the ghosts of a Spanish soldier and a group of nuns.
A dash-cam caught some spooky looking footage in July of last year and a couple days ago the video below was uploaded of a french speaking couple traveling along a curvy road at night. Out of nowhere the legs of a figure can be seen up ahead, followed by the figure’s torso as the car’s headlights cast light on the ‘ghost’.
When I first started this website, finding material to write about was pretty easy, especially when it came to this site’s most popular category, Ghostly Pics.
From years of casual paranormal reading, I had a mental list of the infamous purported paranormal photos I wanted to write about: The Toys R Us Ghost, The Tulip Staircase Ghosts, The strange figure captured on CCTV from Hampton Court and of course, the photograph this site has become most ‘famous’ for covering, The Amityville Ghost Boy.
However, one photograph, which happened to be one of the creepiest pics I had ever laid eyes on, eluded me. Not because it did not have a great story behind it or because the image was not available to me, but because News From The Spirit World has always taken a skeptical approach to the paranormal, albeit with a ‘I want to believe’ attitude as well.
Recently this photo appeared on Reddit’s /r/creepy sub, and it came with an explanation in the comments about a picture that still gives me the chills every time I look into the eyes of this almost demonic looking old woman.
It gets creepier when you realize this image may have been the last thing a man saw before he vanished off the face of the Earth.
We all know we gotta go sometime, and for many who get lucky enough to reach old age, they will live out the last years of their lives in some kind of senior care or assisted living facility.
Being that these locations would have been the site of numerous deaths during it’s time of operation, it should come as no surprise if one or two good ghost stories are tucked in there as well.
Such a story has come out of Grand Haven, Michigan, where nurses who work the second shift at the Grand Haven Assisted Living Facility say the ghost of a former deceased resident has come back to stay, along with numerous other strange occurrences.
Greetings and welcome to the month of October!
This month we hope to present articles on all the little things that make Halloween so great with our “31 Days of Halloween”!
We were fortunate enough to have some help in that regard, so we start out with a article by Doctor Jo Bath about one of the most iconic Halloween symbols…witches!
It seems that for some reason, ghosts just love going down to a pub for a drink just like the rest of us, but it seems some also want to play bartender and pose for photographs as well!
That appears to be the case with the spirited spirit that haunts the Apsley House in Southsea, Hants, where the alleged ghost of a former barman tops off your drinks.
