The ‘Other’ Amityville Ghost Photo

amityville-ghost-real-scary-hood-mask-boy-horror-pic-photo-photgraph-hoax-ocean-

If you read about or investigate the paranormal for a hobby, you probably have come across the story of the Amityville Horror, where a family in Amityville, New York spent twenty-eight horrific days in one of the most infamous haunted houses in the world.

The house, which is located at 108 Ocean Ave (formerly 112 Ocean Ave before the gawkers and tourists became too much to bear after the original film’s release in the late seventies and the street number was changed), also was where Ronald Defeo murdered six of his family members while they slept in November 1974.

Later the Warrens would come in to investigate the house in 1976, leading to one of the most chilling and controversial ‘real’ ghost photographs of all time, The Amityville Ghost Boy.

There is another photograph connected to the ever growing and confusing Amityville legend that has never really been brought to light.

It is said to have been taken in 1922 in the house that stood on the same property on which the Dutch Colonial the Defeos and Lutzes both lived in later stood.

And the figure within the captured image was claimed to be conjured during a seance no less…

Ghosts at Old WW2 Munitions Factory?

WW2 Factory

In the Pall Mall area of Liverpool, several WW2 era bombs were found in an abandoned factory while demolition makes way for the North Point renovation project.

Although that story is interesting enough in its own right, an urban explorer who goes by the name of Toc66 later went into the disused factory before it was demolished and snapped a series of pictures, which were later published online by the Liverpool Echo.

Echo readers online began to comment that besides getting a glimpse at history and a location that was also recently in the local news, they could see objects of a more ghostly origin as well.

Ghost Soldier and Nuns Photographed in Manila?

ghost nun

Facebook user Randy Topacio posted some interesting pictures to his account on March 10th of this year while in Intramuros, a historical district in Manila, Philippines. Besides being the former capital when the area was part of the Spanish Empire, it also is known as the walled city, due to the defense walls built in the 16th century.

Intramuros is actually Spanish for ‘within the walls.’

Topacio was standing on one of these walls when he took a series of interesting photographs he speculates could actually be images of the ghosts of a Spanish soldier and a group of nuns.

Ghostly Pics: Tombstone Cemetery Ghost

By Thomas Spychalski

Some places are just perfect for a ghost story or the perfect location for a excellent ghost photograph. Well, nothing quite says ‘haunted’ like the trappings of the American Old West, with it’s tales of ghost towns abandoned after the money went dry in those areas and the body count created by the outlaw atmosphere that prevailed there.

One infamous and easily debated evidence of ghosts in an old west setting was the one taken at Boothill Cemetery in 1996 when Ike Clanton posed for a picture on the old burial site.

However they did not count on the mysterious figure in the background, dressed in clothing similar to those worn in the Old West and holding a knife.

Ghostly Pics: The Raynham Hall Ghost

This is another relatively infamous ghost photo which was taken at Raynham Hall in Norfolk in 1936. It was taken by two photographers for Country Life magazine, which made its name highlighting the pleasures of living in the country and used photographs of various stately homes as evidence of this. According to the story, the two journalists were doing just such a photo shoot when they saw the ghost descending the stairs and quickly took this photograph.

Bachelor’s Grove: (History/Pics/Videos)

By Thomas Spychalski

Bachelor’s Grove has become one of those haunted locations that has become infamous, along with places like Waverly Hills Sanitarium, Gettysburg, The Queen Mary and the Amityville Horror House.

Fortunately, I had the privilege of living very close to Bachelors Grove cemetery for many years and have visited it quite a few times. In fact, the first time I was there is the only time in my life that I might have had a ‘paranormal’ experience that I could not chalk up to circumstance or something logical and simple.

Bachelors Grove is also a tale of neglect and being forgotten, swept away by the constant march of time. It as much an ‘abandoned place’ as a haunted location.

Ghostly Pics: The Newby Church Monk

By D.A. Lascelles

The photograph of the Newby Church Monk is often cited as one of the ‘best ghost photos ever’ and with good reason. It has particular resonance with me because it is one of the first photographs that ever really scared the hell out of me as a child.

Demolition Men Find Ghost

Is This The Ghost Of Frances Grimshaw?

By Thomas Spychalski

It is said that ghosts and spirits will cling to the places they once lived, be it because they are trapped there or these are the only ‘homes’ that they feel they can go to and feel safe.

It is not surprising then, to hear that a demolition crew in Kendal, Cumbria had a run in with the ghost of a woman who used to run the boarding house they were there to knock down, even getting the spooky ghost photo at the top of this article which appears to show the blurred form of a woman peering out from the half destroyed structure.
