Woman ‘In Love’ With Statue of Liberty

We all love the Statue Of Liberty, that shining beacon of hope and freedom that greeted so many of the immigrants as they came to America.

Amanda Whittaker

But Amanda Whittaker loves Lady Liberty in a way that many might find a bit strange.

Whittaker suffers from objectum sexuality, a rare condition that causes the person to fall in love with inanimate objects rather then people.

From Wikipedia:

“Object sexuality or objectum sexuality, in German objektophil (OS), is a pronounced emotional and often romantic desire towards developing significant relationships with particular inanimate objects. Those individuals with this expressed preference may feel strong feelings of attraction, love, and commitment to certain items or structures of their fixation. For some, sexual or even close emotional relationships with humans are incomprehensible. Object-sexual individuals also often believe inanimism, and sense reciprocation based on the belief that objects have souls, intelligence, feelings, and are able to communicate.Contrary to sexual fetishism, the object to an OS person is viewed as their partner and not as a means to an end to enhance a human sexual relationship.”

Whitaker admits openly to having these kinds of symptoms and besides her affair with the Statue of Liberty, she once also had a teenage infatuation with a drum kit.

She first started to fall in love with the 151 foot statue after a friend posted a picture of the monument online. However, Whitaker makes no bones about her amorous feelings for the lovely copper lady:

“She is my long-distance lover and I am blown away by how stunning she is.

‘Other people might be shocked to think I can have romantic feelings for an object, but I am not the same as them.”

Whitaker has also visited the statue four times and admitted that on those occasions she caressed the statue and kissing the statue’s hair. Whitaker also was at one time mulling over the idea of getting married to the statue but ultimately decide that too many people cherish the statue to go through with it.
